Description:
Icey is a double dilute sheltie and as a result he has slight hearing and vision loss. His adopters should have previous experience with this or be willing to participate in helping him learn how to do things like other dogs, just a bit differently.
Icey is a very soft, sweet and handsome white and merle sheltie who negotiates his environment well. He is learning quickly how to go through doorways and enjoys his freedom outside the crate. He enjoys dogs and happily plays, chases, runs and engages with the dogs in his foster home. A fenced in yard is great and necessary for Icey's comfort and safety. He would do best in a home with another dog who is active, accepting and compatible with him. Icey is both housebroken and comfortable in his crate. He is a bit sensitive but is quickly learning to enjoy being petted and loved on by human companions. Icey is treat motivated and quite smart, so mastering walking on leash will be something he will be able to accomplish soon.
Icey is overcoming his challenges and we believe that with time, patience, and a savvy dog owner Icey will "say" a home with another dog and loving humans is a forever home made in heaven.
