The First Annual Journey Home Gala was held at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium on Saturday, May 5, 2007. Zoo animals entertained while guests perused the auction tables. Dr. Jon Dyce was our honored guest, introduced by Dr. Sue Wagner. Molly and Toby, two of Stacey Gallant’s collies, and former patients of Dr. Dyce’s, joined us in thanking Dr. Dyce for all he has done for Almost Home. Chauncey, our first blind and deaf collie, came with Thom and Jayn Bobbick, his adopters, to be honored as well.
It was an amazing evening. Malcolm Spence put together a very moving video showcasing many of the dogs Almost Home has rescued. We were truly grateful to everyone who donated to and attended our first Gala. The proceeds from this special night allowed us to start our Molly Fund and our Sanctuary Fund.
