Almost Home Dog Rescue of Ohio's "Forever Home Program" consists of program areas which provide support for our rescued dogs -- from intake to adoption. These programs and funds were created to help remove our dogs from abusive and/or neglectful situations, bring them in from shelters or humane agencies, or from owners who can no longer care for their pets due to illness or death. We place them in foster homes, and then into their forever homes. We are seeing an increasing number of dogs abandoned by their owners due to foreclosures and job loss. We receive phone calls weekly from people asking us to take their dogs, and if at all possible, we do so that they won't be left behind.
Our organization and programs are entirely volunteer run. We rely on donations to provide continued support. The cost to rescue, rehabilitate and foster our dogs far exceed our requested adoption donation. Contribution information can be found on each program page.
Our fosters are an essential part of a dog's rehabilitation process ... they provide shelter, they begin training, they help our dogs learn to trust, and so much more. Most of all, they provide love.

Our Senior to Senior Project was created to match senior citizens with senior dogs through a permanent senior foster program. Many of our older adults cannot afford the care of a dog. We believe each will benefit through this project.
