Description:

Colt might not look the best in photos yet because his coat had to be shaved, but this big lad is coming into his own as he begins to realize that his life has just become an amazing one. Although Colt doesn’t appear to know commands, he is showing that he catches on quickly. If his foster mom calls his name and beckons, he knows to come to her. If she offers a treat, he’ll do whatever she asks. He has had a couple of accidents, but he is still getting used to his new environment.

Colt hasn’t met any children yet, but he is expected to be fine around them. When meeting other animals, Colt just does his own thing and ignores them. He does have foster dog siblings, and as he relaxes, he may begin to play with them. For now, he wants to be with his foster mom, and, as she says, the “food source” (her!). When she sits, he lovingly puts his head in her lap so she can pet him.  Colt’s favorite activity, besides eating, is to be petted.

Colt is soulful and dignified. Look into his eyes and you will see a quiet, loving spirit. Colt is settling in and learning what consistent love, affection and food means. It means he can become the collie that has lived in his heart waiting to be born.
