Description:
Max is a handsome blue merle gentleman. He is a well-behaved companion who is happiest when he is following his humans or curled up on a cozy lap for petting time. He loves going on his short twice-a-day walks, and he walks confidently on a leash. Max notices other people or dogs on his walks but does not bark at them, he just gives a short sniff and keeps moving. While he hasn’t joined in on the nightly “chase the ball down the hall” game, it might just be that he never learned how to play ball. However, Max does happily follow after his foster canine sibling and seems to enjoy the exercise and camaraderie.
Treats? Yes, please! Max loves his treats and eats well (so much so that he could lose a couple of pounds). He’s easygoing and polite with visitors—happy to let visitors pet him but fine if they don’t. Though he has some vision and hearing limitations, Max manages beautifully, confident to know his people are nearby.
Max would do best in a single-story home. He can go down steps as needed but finds going up a bit tricky. While he has not been around cats or children, his calm, well-behaved nature and friendly interactions with people and dogs suggest he’d do just fine with felines or older children.
If Max could choose his dream home, it might be with an older single person or a couple who is as laid-back but as reasonably active as he is. Max is happy to get some good exercise but is also content to hang out on the couch and soak up good ear or belly rubs.
