Description:
Huxley is a handsome, large collie who’s eager to please. He is affectionate, thinks he should be the center of attention and will happily follow you anywhere. Huxley quickly bonds with his humans and watches eagerly for them to return home. He is trustworthy and well-mannered in the house. While he’d love to snuggle next to you on the sofa—or in bed—he’s a bit too big to be a lap dog. He’s already mastered “come” and is working on “sit” and “shake.”
Though he arrived a bit wary, Huxley is doing better as he adjusts to his fosters’ routine and home life. Thunderstorms don’t faze him, and while he’s initially cautious around new people and dogs, he warms up quickly to both. His love of being petted endears him to any person willing to scratch him behind the ears. He is not at all food aggressive but has been known to try to filch some food from a foster sibling if they weren’t paying close enough attention.
He loves walks and perks right up when he sees the leash, ready to go on an excursion. Huxley easily jumps into the car like a pro for a roadtrip. He’ll chase balls (or squirrels), but in true collie fasion, he gets distracted before he can bring a ball back. He is a good communicator: in the morning he comes to the side of the bed, noses the covers to find the foster’s hand to lick, and gives an imploring look that clearly says he’s ready to get up, get going and eat breakfast. Huxley will be groomed soon, and although he’s already handsome, he’s about to shine even brighter.
