Description:

Looking for an active, energetic friend? Meet Niko! This 1-year-old sable sheltie is full of life and love. Niko gets along great with other dogs and loves being outside—running, playing and showing off his strong herding instincts. When called inside, he settles down quickly and enjoys watching the family’s activities. He might startle at unexpected noises, but he’s quick to bounce back to his cheerful self.

Niko is slowly learning all his commands and will need a home that will continue his lessons. He is motivated by treats but prefers to play more than anything else. He loves his car rides and walks well on a leash.

Outgoing and friendly to all, Niko especially enjoys his foster mom. He follows her around and loves to sleep in her bed. In fact, when she is out, he has been known to unmake the bed, happily napping until she comes home. When he awakes, he will patiently wait at the door for her with a gleeful greeting and a welcoming cuddle!
